Cosmic thinking

Post  Rufus on Sat Mar 01, 2008 8:14 am

The bag pipes are the ultimate instrument of philosophy… because they sustain.

Sustain is missing from so many lives today…

Sustain in life, love, work… and happiness.

Hi Rufus...glad to see you back! We missed you:)

I dont think my mind is working cosmically enough right now to understand your post...are you saying in general we don't try hard enough to sustain things in our lives? Like relationships, etc?

Sometimes the act of sustaining is SOOOOOO incredibly tiresome...and with little reward.

That is one way to look at it, though I don't agree.

Staccato would be the opposite of Sustain.

Staccato is an Italian word meaning "detach or separated".

Rufus....I looked up sustain and got:to supply with sustenance : NOURISH - to support the weight of : PROP ; also : to carry or withstand (a weight or pressure)

Unfortunately the thing I find easiest to sustain-is my weight...especially this 8 pounds I keep trying to get rid of;)

I guess my answer shows I am not really very cosmically inclined...either that or I am sober... Razz

Wow guys...that is wayyyyyyyyy to much for me! lol
I think my one brain cell just is not complex enough to even fashion a useful response. I guess I wish I could sustain a semi-normal relationship...it doesnt have to be a great one or a perfect one- semi-normal would do. alien

I feel like a person who was sent forward in time- 20 years ahead- my relationship is that of an old married couple...and not one of the fun trendy ones Sleep

I am up late...and I can probably sleep, but I'm typing first and then will sleep. I spoke with a friend today...someone I would probably romantically like in a different time and place...and I do what I always do...I say whatever I am thinking...and then I wonder if it's weird. Do any of you do that too? I find it so interesting that if you are truly just friends with a person- its all easy and comfortable- and you dont second guess yourself...but if you think you might like them...all those things change and it gets weird. How can this be remedied? scratch
